What is Notary?

A notary public is an official appointed by the state to witness and verify the signing of legal documents, helping to:

  • Prevent fraud
  • Confirm identity
  • Ensure voluntary participation

Notaries are neutral third parties and do not give legal advice.


What Do You Need to Bring?

  • Valid, government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
  • The complete, unsigned document
  • Any required witnesses (forms can require 1-2)
